IN MEMORY OF DOUGY...MY LOVING PET CAT
************************************

My beloved visitors to my forum, so sorry that I had not been able to post on any subject of worth due to the fact that I was
busy attending to my favourite pet cat called Douglas.
He had not been well lately and I was not sure what was wrong with him.
Actually, Douglas or Dougy wasn't my pet but he belonged to my neighbour Chris who lived nine doors away from my home!
Since I met Dougy a couple of years ago, I noticed that he visited our home frequently and liked to hang around the front
yard, enjoying most the warm sunshine daily. He was also the best mouser in our neighbour...!
My son Henry likes animals and he begins to feed Dougy with dry cat food when he meows in indicating being hungry.
When Henry is not around, I would often feed him.
Dougy was a completely white, long haired, furry cat and slightly on the plump side.
He was a pleasant pet and even strangers passing by my house would be drawn to him and pet him lovingly.
If still alive, Dougy would be slightly more than ten years old.
Chris and family moved away several months ago and left Dougy for me and my family to look after because he would not
adapt to the new environment and would definitely try to find his way home to us if Chris were to take him away!
For the past few weeks, I noticed that Dougy had not been well and had a consistent cough.
Thinking it was due to the hair balls accumulating in his throat, I administered the hair ball oil to him.
His cough persisted and I then contacted Chris to come and him to the vet.
Since he had not eaten nor drank any water, it was imperative that a vet must examine him right away.
The vet had Dougy x-rayed and found, according to the vet, "that he had cancer" and was better to put him down.
This drastic step had to be taken in order to save Dougy from further pain and discomfort, though much reluctants and regrets.
Without Dougy, my favourite companion, my wife and I feel a definite lost and deep hurt in our hearts.
We will always remember Dougy and the joy and companionship that he has brought along to enrich our lives which we
are now yearning for him and grieving in the coming days and weeks.
We pray that Dougy will now rest in peace and knowing that we love him always...!!!
